Persona

My name is Alexander Kahl and I'm a free software developer from Berlin, Germany. Currently, I am both the maintainer and lead developer of this project.

Background

I took over this project after egore, its previous maintainer, decided to refocus on other projects and interests. While working together, I convinced him to abandon the old code and re-write the whole thing from scratch. We decided to write highly reusable code and discovered soon that we were writing not only a game but a game engine. This goes far beyond NiL's original goals and will undoubtedly consume much more time but I'm convinced it is worth it. There is no free (as in speech) engine yet which provides what we intend NiL to be in the future.
